A new TV documentary will air next week featuring a Montreal man who was a bodyguard to the stars.
Tyrone Foster told CJAD he has protected celebrities such as Madonna, Oprah Winfrey, Celine Dion and the band U2.
"I started off in a club when I was 18-years old, going, (back to), 1983. I used to kick around playing hockey, junior hockey and in the summertime we'd do security and I started off working the bars, then ended up doing some shows back in the day for, (promoter), Donald K. Donald, shows at the Forum and all over and it just kind of evolved from there", said Foster.
He said he took a security guard course in the U.S. and started off protecting big local stars in the 80s such as Mitsou.
"Back then the only way you could really see an artist was, we'd do in-stores and malls, Cote Vertu, so we'd show up and there'd be thousands of people wanting to get a piece of her."
The hairiest moment came during the Big O double bill featuring Metallica and Guns and Roses when frontman Axl Rose left the stage.
"People are firing beer bottles at the stage and you're inbetween the stage and a riot breaking out. That was pretty scary."
The French-language documentary "Sécurité de stars: les dessous" airs next Thurday at 7 p.m. on the MOI&cie channel.
