A Montreal woman is in a legal battle against Quebec's Public Curator over her father's medical needs.
According to the Gazette, Dominique Brief says the curator is denying her father possibly life-saving medication for a lung infection at his nursing home.
The newspaper says Brief was her father’s guardian or curator since 2011.
That's when it was determined he was incapable of looking after himself because of dementia.
But, the curator interevened in recent months to take over legal and financial decisions for 80-year-old Jean-Claude Brief following a dispute involving the daughter and a sister.
Brief says the curator simply wants her father to die.
She's reported saying yesterday that she obtained a court decision ordering the curator to release her father to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
