Former New York City mayor Rudy Guiliani describes Republican presidential canddiate Donald Trump as a genius in the wake of a New York Times story suggesting Trump may have avoided paying taxes for years.
Guiliani says this is a perfectly legal application of the tax code and that Trump would have been a fool not to take advantage of it.
Meantime, Trump is threatening to sue The New York Times over the story about his business losses in 1995.
The newspaper reports state income tax filings showing nearly one-billion dollars in losses could have allowed Trump to avoid paying federal income taxes for as many as 18 years.
Trump is accusing the newspaper of working to benefit Hillary Clinton.
And at a rally last night he questioned her loyalty to her husband, saying her only loyalty is to her financial contributors and to herself.
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders says if everyone in the U-S was a genius like Trump and didn't pay taxes quote -- "we wouldn't have a country.''
