Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is offering his condolences in the wake of the murder of the Russian ambassador to Turkey.
Andrei Karlov was shot to death earlier today during the opening of a photo exhibit in Ankara by a man who was later killed by police.
The Turkish government said the assassin was himself a policeman.
Governments around the world offered condolences, deploring what the United States called a heinous act.
Trudeau says he condemns such violence.
He says his thoughts go out to the Russian people and Karlov's family.
