It's the busiest day of the year for Montreal's Trudeau Airport, and it seems to be going off without a hitch.
Airport authorities say they're expecting 60,000 passengers to flow through between arrivals and departures - more than even the busy days right before Christmas.
And that's to say nothing of the extra loved ones picking them up and seeing them off.
Passengers at the airport told CJAD they had experienced no major hold ups with lines, and by mid afternoon it was possible to clear security in minutes.
On the customs and immigration side, the Canada Border Services Agency also took measures to make sure delays were minimized.
CBSA spokesperson Judith Gadbois St Cyr says the agency wasn't taking chances.
"We are overplanning, we are preparing in advance, forecasting volumes, adjusting our staff...all officers available are asked to stay on site to increase capacity."
CBSA is using automated border clearance kiosks to allow Canadians to pass through customs quickly and opening up all customs inspection lines - and Gadbois St Cyr says it has been effective.
"So far we've been having great success, it's been a great season, no wait time, we're happy, it's been snowy, it's been great. Let's not fix something that isn't broken."
Despite yesterday's snow storm, there are no major flight delays at the airport.
