Ontario Provincial Police have located a pickup truck that Montreal police believe was involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident in the Plateau on Sunday.
Police pulled the 2012 silver Chevrolet Silverado on the outskirts of North Bay, Ont., and arrested the 33-year-old man driving it.
He's expected to face vehicle theft charges.
Thr truck matched the description of the one involved in a hit-and-run incident at the corner of Mont-Royal Ave. and St. Urbain St. on Sunday afternoon. A 79-year-old woman was struck and killed while trying to cross the street.
The truck, with Ontario plates, had the words 'Elevator 1 Inc.' scrawled on its bed box in red letters. It's an elevator company in Barrie, Ont.
The truck was apparently stolen sometime between Sept. 20 and 22.
Police have not yet definitively linked the 33-year-old man to the Plateau incident, but it appears Montreal police will be sending an investigator to North Bay shortly.
