A truck driver was seriously injured Monday when his semi-truck slammed into a snowplow on Highway 40 east in Pointe-Claire.
The accident happened just after 10:30 P.M. near Saint-Jean Blvd.
The snowplow was laying down salt when the impact occurred, with the driver side of the truck the major point of impact. The raised plow tore through the cab of the semi, injuring the driver.
The 42-year-old man was taken to hospital and remains in critical condition.
The section of the highway was closed for several hours overnight while accident investigators went over the scene.
