A deadly accident in Dorval late last night claimed the life of a 44-year-old Transport Quebec employee who was part of an eight-person crew doing roadwork in the right lane of westbound highway-20 in Dorval.
The accident happened around 11:30pm after a female motorist in an SUV was struck by a pickup and pushed out of her lane by an allegedly intoxicated 38-year-old man. The woman slammed into Transport Quebec vehicles and the eight workers.
One employee died at the scene of the accident, while the seven others and the female motorist were transported to hospital. Some of them were initially listed in critical condition, but have since stabalized.
The 38-year-old driver of the pickup who allegedly caused the accident has been arrested for "impaired driving causing death" and is expected to appear in Court as early as Saturday afternoon.
