The son of former Quebec construction magnate Tony Accurso has died in a car accident.
A car went off the road overnight on Route 370 in Sainte Marguerite du Lac Masson, a few kilometres east of Val David, killing 43-year-old James
Accurso.
A passenger was seriously injured and taken to hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The 38-year-old driver, who suffered minor injuries, under went a blood test and is accused of driving while impaired.
The driver was expected to appear in court on Friday to be formally charged.
The younger Accurso, who was vice-president of Simard Beaudry and an engineer for Louisbourg Construction, testified during his father's Laval fraud and corruption trial.
Tony Accurso was sentenced to four years behind bars, but is free pending his appeal.
