The Saint-Jacques overpass, which was demolished in 2015 as part of the reconstruction of the Turcot Interchange will partially reopen to vehicular and pedestrian traffic Friday afternoon.
In a statement released Friday morning the Quebec Transport Ministry announced that two lanes on what is now being called the St. Jacques Bridge will be open in the west bound direction and one lane will be open eastbound.
The northside sidewalk will be available to pedestrians, but the southside sidewalk will remain closed.
The structure was scheduled to have been completed before the end of the year, but the statement says crews were unable to complete the task because of adverse weather over the past several weeks.
The work will now be completed in the spring.
