A protest against racism is expected to draw at least a couple thousand people to east-end Montreal this afternoon.
Almost 2,200 people have indicated their intention to join the protest - according to the Facebook page for the event.
Organizers met with the media earlier this week and said the protest was planned to go ahead regardless of the result of the October 1st election. They'll also take the opportunity to denounce Quebec's new C-A-Q government as a "social danger."
The rally takes place at 3:00pm at Place Émilie-Gamelin at the corner of Amherst and Ste-Catherine streets.
