As MNAs return to the National Assembly for the final session before the next election, what secrets are hidden within?
According to numbers obtained by Radio-Canada, between October and December of 2017, 5,877 attempts to access websites with potentially pornographic content were blocked by the network's firewall.
The busiest month was October, where there was an average of 88 attempts to visit a banned site per day.
The hits could have come from any of the National Assembly's 1,500 computers or the many cell phones and tablets brought in by various officials, staff members, journalists and guests who pass through the doors each day.
A communications manager for the National Assembly told the French broadcaster said no attempt to access these types of websites was successful.
The firewall can be triggered by banner ads or third party software. Other attempts could be simple user error. The majority of attempts were likely caused by viruses that hijack web browsers and redirect them to pornographic sites.
Because of this it is impossible to know how many of the connections were voluntary.
By comparison, a report last year found Britain's parliamentary network blocked 24,473 attempts to access pornographic websites between June and October of 2017.
