Rosie Animal Adoption in the West Island was the target of thieves over the weekend - they had a laptop, two computers and petty cash stolen.
The animal rescue and adoption service said someone broke into their office and made off with computers used to do administrative work and that had irreplaceable photos and other information - a big blow to a non-profit whose volunteers now have to use their time to "rebuild, reconfigure and reorganize" their whole business framework.
Founder and director Anne Dubé told CJAD 800 News that while they do this, animal adoptions and surrenders have to be delayed.
They're hoping for a long shot - that the thieves will dump the computers somewhere so they can get the data back.
