With days to go before Christmas, an organization that helps people in need in Two Mountains has had its Christmas gift baskets stolen.
About $3,000 dollars in donations were taken from the charity last Saturday—exactly a week before Christmas—210 baskets in all that were to be handed out, said André Ouellet, president of the Depannage Saint-Agapit.
"We were able to distribute [replacement] baskets," he added. "Naturally there were missing products. "
According to Ouellet, to make up for the loss they had to dig into the donation stores meant for families in need during the rest of the year.
The charity robber remains on the loose.
Depannage Saint-Agapit accepts donations by telephone at 450-473-7450 and through its website.
