A trade dispute between Canada and the U.S. has had a trickle-down effect on your smoked meat meal at Schwartz's.
The iconic diner on the Main has run out of black cherry soda.
Its supplier, Cott has no more aluminum cans - a combined result of the U.S.-Canada tariff war on aluminum and a shortage of aluminum cans in North America.
"This is a first for me - I've been here 37 years," said general manager Frank Silva on the Aaron Rand Show.
SIlva said it's a letdown for at least half of his customers who count on the classic smoked meat sandwich, pickle and cherry cola combo.
"Well, they're not too happy," said Silva.
"We're talking over 2000 cans a week on average so a lot of unhappy customers."
So what do they drink instead?
"Regular Coke. Bottled water and other stuff," said Silva.
Don't despair - Silva is expecting a shipment in a few weeks.
But expect the price to rise.
"We've been paying more already," said Silva.
"We haven't raised our prices but there's going to be more raises and they're paying so we have to pay. So you'll have to pay."
