The city of Montreal says it has an agreement in principle with its blue collar workers.
The deal involves some 7,500 unionized employees.
A city release says details of the deal will be made public only after the agreement is formally approved.
Mayor Coderre tweeted he was happy a deal was reached, adding both sides made quite an effort to reach it and that they showed good faith during talks.
Montreal has recently hammered out pension plan deals with police officers, firefighters, scientists and white-collar workers.
