The 14-year-old Pere-Marquette High School student who was found at the bottom of a swimming pool in Rosemont last Thursday has died.
He had apparently been at the bottom of the pool for several minutes before being rushed to hospital.
The coroner's office confirms he died Wednesday morning.
The boy had been taking part in a swimming class at a municipal pool located across the street from the high school. His classmates, an instructor and a lifeguard got out of the pool, without noticing he had slipped into the deep end.
He was found by members of a later class, and was later rushed to hospital. He apparently spent several minutes underwater, and had a pulse when he was pulled out.
