It could be very tough to get around Montreal and the surrounding area today.
As part of ongoing protests against the Quebec government and its deal with ride-hailing service Uber, cab drivers from all over Quebec have been invited to gather in Montreal.
The protests will begin at 10:00 A.M., missing the morning rush, with cabbies meeting up at two locations: Cineplex Laval, near the Cosmodome and at the Association Culturelle Haïtienne Perle Retrouvée on 20th Ave. at the corner of Crémazie Blvd.
Where the convoy goes from there, nobody knows. In the past, they have driven around town slowly, blocking traffic.
The taxi industry tried twice to stop the deal from going forward; both attempts were rejected by the court.
