The city of Longueuil has issued another call for tenders to rebuild a pedestrian overpass that was destroyed by a dumptruck in February of 2015.
The bridge over Highway 132 linking Vieux-Longueuil and the shoreline of the Saint Lawrence River was torn down after it w2as hit by a dumptruck with it's bed raised.
The Journal de Montreal says the first call for tenders produced price proposals that were several million dollars more than what city engineers had estimated.
The city has since revised it's requirements and plans to award a contract early next year.
It is also continuing to pursue the company responsible for the damage and is seeking about $ 2.5 million compensation.
