The Sûreté du Québec has developed a new tactic for tracking down motorists who use a cellphone while behind the wheel.
The police department now has a "ghost bus".
It's a white, full size, passenger bus with a few modifications.
The windows are heavily tinted and many of the seats have been removed to allow the police officers inside to move more freely while they peer into cars looking for drivers talking and texting behind the wheel.
If they spot someone breaking the law, they will note the license plate and transmit the details to the nearest patrol car.
The Automobile Insurance Board (SAAQ) says in 2015 more than 55,000 motorists were convicted of using a cellphone behind the wheel.
