The Sun Youth Foundation is in desperate need of toy donations, as it continues with its annual holiday hamper distribution.
Volunteers have been running around town delivering food and toys to underprivileged families, since Monday.
“There are 5,000 families registered for Christmas hampers and 5,000 toys earmarked for kids under the age of 12”, said Sid Stevens, Sun Youth’s founder.
But, the foundation doesn't have enough toys to make sure every kid has something new waiting for them under the tree on Christmas morning, according to Stevens.
“We’re running short, especially between zero and two, and 11 and 12-years-of-age,” he said. “Don’t worry about wrapping the toys, we’ll do it ourselves.”
He is asking that you donate new toys, everything from stuffed animals for babies and toddlers to action figures and dolls for older children.
Donations can be brought to the foundation’s new location at 6700 Parc Avenue, at the corner of St-Zotique.
The drive will run through until Christmas Eve.
