A Montreal bakery chain has closed unexpectedly, leaving roughly 150 workers in shock.
De Gascogne cites economic reasons.
CTV's Max Harrold reported employees received a letter.
"The letters sent to employees and made available to CTV say the company had not been profitable for some years now. The company has seven stores and a production facility and the starting wage is $11.25 an hour", said Harrold.
The union said it's not sure workers will receive any severance.
De Gascogne has operated for six decades.
