It was supposed to happen last month, but it didn't.
The plan was for the cost of parking at a number of Montreal area hospitals to be lowered further.
In 2015, a patients' committee at the MUHC singled out the parking lot at the Glen hospital for charging $25 for 90 minutes.
The hospital replied it was told by the Health ministry that the parking lot must be self-financing.
Then, a year ago the MUHC at the Glen lowered its rates for long-term users: four weeks for $70 passes.
Health Minister Gaetan Barrette eventually told several hospitals they had to slash fees even more by Nov. 30.
"The MUHC isn't the only area hospital in Montreal that's continued to have higher than average parking rates. So has the CHUM, Hotel Dieu and Jewish General hospital", reported
CTV's Caroline Van Vlaardigen.
According to CTV, the Jewish General said reworking the fees is complicated, that the parking plan for all the hospitals would have to be overhauled.
Committee spokesman Pierre Hurteau is reported to have said the MUHC has until April to lower its rates to better reflect area parking fees.
