Starting today it's going to cost you a little more to mail a letter, just how much more depends on its size and destination.
The cost of a single regular stamp for a letter sent within Canada will go up five cents to $1.05, a booklet of stamps will see the same increase, with each stamp now costing $0.90 (up from $0.85).
Larger letters, between 30g and 500g will see increases between $0.10 and $0.35.
For those who send mail to the United States and overseas, prices will increase between seven and 20 cents to the US and 15 to 20 cents for other international destinations.
Canada Post estimates the increase will cost less than one dollar a year for the average Canadian household and about $14 per year for a typical small business.
This is the first rate increase at Canada Post since 2014.
