The Sûreté du Québec was out Wednesday morning on Highway 132 catching motorists butting in line and trying to cheat traffic near the ramp for the La Fontaine tunnel.
In an operation similar to the one using a helicopter on June 13, five officers on motorcycles were dispatched to the area at 7:00 A.M.
SQ spokesperson Ingrid Asselin said drivers who were caught were given a fine of $311 and each lost three demerit points.
In one hour Asselin said officers had already handed out at least 10 tickets.
