Urgences-Santé said Sunday was a challenging day because of the snow storm, but it wasn't necessarily the call volume.
The ambulance service said it was because of snowy road conditions and the gusty winds kicking the snow around.
"Our paramedics are facing a very difficult time on the road; it increases our response time by delaying the speed at which we can drive and also means the more complicated access to patients if the snow hasn't been cleared", said spokesman Eddy Afram.
Afram added the number of calls for the day was "pretty much stable compared to a normal day."
He also said they saw an increase in calls dealing with falls and car accidents, but couldn't say how many more.
