A report suggests plans for the site of the old Montreal Children's Hospital are starting to take shape.
The sale of the buildings on the site closed last week — sold to developer Luc Poirier for $25 million. That amount is well below its municipal evaluation of $45 million.
Radio-Canada is reporting the buildings may largely be torn down to put up six residential and commercial towers of up to 20 stories, which could include condos, a hotel, some social housing units, a park and a community centre.
Poirier wouldn't comment on the report until an official announcement comes.
Last year, Poirier floated the idea of even building a baseball park on the site to accommodate a future major league team. That idea was quickly shot down by mayor Denis Coderre.
