Montreal Canadiens defenceman Shea Weber will soon undergo surgery to repair a tendon in his left foot, and will be out for the rest of the 2017-18 season as a result.
The 32-year-old defenceman hasn't played a game since the 100th anniversary outdoor game in Ottawa on Dec. 16. He missed a total of 32 games this season with the foot injury — including the last 26.
The team says it expects Weber to make a full recovery by the start of training camp in the fall.
