A woman who falsely claimed to have been sexually assaulted and then criticized Longueuil police for failing to properly investigate her case is going to be sentenced today.
Carole Thomas pleaded guilty this month to charges of mischief and uttering forged documents.
In February of last year, after 23-year-old Jenique Dalcourt was found murdered near a bike path in Longueuil, Thomas came forward with a story of being sexually assaulted in the same area just two days earlier.
Using cellphone records, police investigators later discovered she was nowhere near the area at the time she claimed.
