Sears Canada has announced it will close another 10 stores, including the location at Fairview Pointe-Claire, in its restructuring effort following declaring bankruptcy in June.
The Montreal location is the only added closure hitting Quebec stores. In June, the company announced it would close 59 stores across Canada, affecting nearly 3,000 jobs, in a bid to restructure after being granted bankruptcy protection by an Ontario court.
The finalization of those 59 original store closures is also expected to be completed by Sunday, according to a company spokesperson.
The company says the latest closures will affect another 1,200 workers on top of the 2,900 job cuts announced in June.
