SAQ workers launched another one of their surprise strikes Friday — smack in the middle of their workday.
Workers at SAQ outlets across the province abruptly closed up shop at 2 p.m.
The union representing 5,500 store and office workers says they're upset with management's imposition of disciplinary measures against workers who the union says were engaged in legal and peaceful pressure tactics.
The workers have been without a collective agreement since March 31, 2017, and have already staged a handful of one-day strikes in the past few weeks.
Typically, managers would step in and keep a few of the SAQ outlets open while the workers took their strike days. (Click here to see which stores are still open.)
Contract talks are expected to resume next week.
