The SAQ says it'll be cutting 190 jobs over the next few weeks, in a bid to cut costs — and quite possibly, prices.
The provincial liquor board issued a news release on Wednesday, saying the positions are in various sectors of the organization.
The board plans to scale back the adminstrative side of the business, and adds that none of the cuts will affect staff who work in SAQ outlets.
The SAQ says the job cuts are part of a management reorganization strategy that it launched a few years ago — a strategy aimed at cutting administrative costs, which may ultimately help it reduce the prices of their products.
