If there's a silver lining to this weekend's road closures it's that they're going to be one hour shorter than usual thanks to daylight savings time... but that's about it.
Anyone looking to get downtown, possibly to the Bell Centre for Disney on Ice will have to take some detours, or use public transit.
From Friday 11:59 P.M. to Monday 5:00 A.M. the eastbound Route 136 (new Ville Marie expressway) will be completely closed between the Turcot Interchange and Cathedral/Notre Dame Sts.
This will mean the ramps from Highway 15 north and south and Highway 20 east will be closed as well.
The detour will take motorists along Highway 15 south to Exit 60 for Highway 10 because the exit for Atwater will be closed for the weekend.
The ongoing Turcot work will also force the closure of the ramps connecting the Decarie Expressway southbound and Route 136 westbound to Highway 20 west.
The Sherbrooke St. entrance to Decarie north and Highway 15 south between Exit 60 and Nun's Island will be closed during the overnight hours only.
Work on the Champlain Bridge will have crews closing Highway 15 north between Exit 58 and the GaƩtan-Laberge Blvd. entrance from Friday 11:00 P.M. to Monday at 5:00 A.M.
The Nun's Island entrance will also be closed during the same period.
