Not only will Wednesday be the last day of February, it will also be the third day of the three day strike mandate voted for by union members in January.
The walkout will affect about 15,000 students on 300 bus routes:
On Tuesday the bus drivers' union said contract talks remain at a standstill, with salaries being the main sticking point.
The drivers earn about $20,000 annually.
President of the Transco-CSN Workers Union Carole Laplante said the group regrets having to exercise its ultimate pressure tactic in order to get their employer to understand that its drivers do not want to get poorer.
Union members will take part in a meeting Wednesday where the next step will be discussed, which could include a new strike mandate or general strike.
