After years of promises it was on the way, you can finally check the arrival of your next STM bus in real time.
The STM says real-time tracking is now available on its new website, with the beta version going live on Thursday.
GPS trackers on city buses provide the real-time estimations—which are also available on the third-party mobile app, Transit, but not on the STM's own mobile program.
While it has upheld its longstanding pledge to bring real-time data to transit users, Montreal's transit authority first awarded the contract for the iBus project in 2010, and it still is not finished.
Added functionality to the STM's bus tracking is expected in 2018, including integrating it with the Chrono application of the RTM, the regional transport authority for the Montreal Metropolitan Area.
