Public health officials would like to condemn the entire 30 unit apartment building at 3360 Goyer — known as "the worst slum in Cote-des-Neiges"
Dr David Kaiser with the Montreal public health department says there's a notorious building on Rue Goyer in Cote-des-Neiges that has public health officials worried.
"Problems with mold, recurrent water damage, severe water damage with mold growth apparently in the floor, in the hallways that give way under a person's weight," said Kaiser.
The building has been subject to several warnings and since their inspection they've recommended everyone move out.
"In seeing what we saw, we felt that the people in this building should be taken out," said Kaiser.
He says the borough is responsible for enforcing the health department's recommendations, but emptying an entire building full of low-income tenants in the middle of winter can be worse than letting them stay.
