A West Island medical research lab is under fire after an investigation by CTV program W5.
A report which aired Saturday night featured video captured by an undercover employee at ITR Laboratories in Baie d'Urfé, which tests medical products on animals.
The video showed dogs being hit, and monkeys that had apparently torn out their own hair from stress, amongst much more.
In response to the video, protesters are planning to spend much of Friday near the lab.
Protest organizer Rob Boisvert said the lab employees' behaviour is unacceptable.
"If this was somebody's dog or cat and you saw your neighbourh doing that, people would lose their minds."
"To be abused at the same time on top of the pain and suffering they're already going through, it's just so uncalled for."
Boisvert says he's hoping to the protest can alert Baie d'Urfé residents about what's going on in their neighbourhood.
"We're going to let the whole community know around that place what's going on in their backyard, and all the businesses. So that way they can say 'hey, this is not what we want beside us'."
The protest will be in front of the lab, but not on its property.
Boisvert added that he hopes this means employees at the lab will take notice, too.
"We're going to let everybody in there are work know that we're not going to tolerate this. We're going to be watching them as they leave, they're going to see that this was not a faceless crime."
