Depending on how you look at it it's either the largest city of Montreal budget in history, or the lowest budget increasing in years.
Your property taxes will be rising at the rate of inflation, 1.7 per cent, so if you own an average priced home of around $435 000, your taxes will go up about $60 per year.
Mayor Denis Coderre says a 2.8 per cent increase is mostly due to increased spending on roads, water and sewers.
"Reinvesting in infrastructure provide us a with a better margin for the future, so it's like to pay now instead of later," said Mayor Coderre.
The budget sets aside $16 million for the 2017 municipal where you can let Coderre know exactly what you think of this budget.
The chart below indicates how much your taxes will be going up or down, based on both the Montreal tax and borough tax changes.
