Montreal police are reported saying they're investigating the sexual assault of a 25-year old pregnant, homeless woman, but, due to protocol, can't comment on ongoing cases.
According to the Gazette, she's afraid for her life after police released a man she says assaulted her on Wednesday.
The newspaper goes on to say she then turned to the Open Door homeless shelter and a worker there said, among other things, she was spitting blood, but she was too distraught to seek medical attention.
The victim told the newspaper the assailant attacked her while she was sleeping in an alley off Park Ave. and returned a couple of days later threatening to stab her.
The suspect is also homeless.
The shelter worker, identified as John Tessier, is reported saying "she’s sleeping on the streets and there’s this predator on the loose who’s told her he’s going to attack her again”.
