PQ leader Jean-Francois Lisée said calls for secularism in Quebec is a trend and it's perfectly legitimate.
While on the Aaron Rand show, Lisée said society must be respectful, mindful and gradual in the way it's done.
"Our position is that for the Bouchard-Taylor proposal, to make sure that people who have the power to take away your freedom, judges, prison guards, policemen, should not wear any".
That's when Rand interupted Lisée saying Lisée would impose "Bouchard-Taylor" as his platform.
Lisée immediately responded "that's correct".
Quebec’s Bouchard-Taylor Commission investigated the issue of reasonable accommodation of minorities in the province over a decade ago, hearing from experts, among others, on identity, integration and religion.
It presented its report in 2008 and recommendations included that the crucifix in the National Assembly be relocated in the Parliament building to a place that emphasizes its heritage value.
Quebec provincial election is scheduled for October 1st.
