The arrival of Jean-François Lisée has given the Parti Quebecois a boost in the latest polls, but it did not come at the expense of the Couillard Liberals.
According to the latest CROP-La Presse poll, the PQ enjoyed a three point increase compared to last month, now sitting at 30 per cent support.
The Liberals did not move, still holding on to the lead at 37 per cent.
It was François Legault and the CAQ that were hit the hardest following the appointment of the new PQ leader. The CAQ lost four points overall, now trailing in third at 22 per cent support.
Despite having a less than favourable approval rating among respondents (55 per cent say they are not happy with the current government) Philippe Couillard (21 per cent, down one point from last month) once again came out on top when asked who is best fit to run the province. François Legault dropped two points to sit at 19 per cent, tied with Jean-François Lisée.
As for the ever looming question of sovereignty, the one point increase the movement gained last month has disappeared, now sitting at 32 per cent, which ties its lowest support ever recorded.
