Hydro-Quebec crews have made considerable progress in their bid to restore power to those who have been without since a bout of freezing rain hit the province.
As residents in the Lanaudière, Laurentians and Laval were going to bed there were still more than 22,000 Hydro customers without electricity.
By 4:00 A.M. that number dropped below 8,000. At the peak of the outages, more than 313,000 homes and businesses were affected.
More than 500 crews remain on the road working to repair the more than 250 specific outages. The forecast for Thursday has plenty of sunshine and temperatures near 5°C during the day, which will make for easier working conditions compared to the overnight lows that have dipped below freezing all week.
