A section of NDG Park — known to locals as Girouard Park, after one of the streets that borders it — will reopen this weekend after last week's devastating storm.
Cote des Neiges-NDG borough mayor Russell Copeman says inspectors visited the park and determined the northern portion of the park could be reopened.
The southern portion, bordered by Sherbrooke St. W., bore the brunt of the microburst on Aug. 22. Dozens of trees were knocked down or damaged, and fallen tree branches still litter the area.
Police tape and signs are everywhere urging residents to stay away for their own safety. Police have also put extra patrols in the area to keep residents away.
Hundreds of trees and tree branches fell during last week's storm across the borough — many of which fell on homes and cars.
ICYMI: Happy to announce after our inspectors visited the site northern part of #NDG Park will be reopened this weekend. #polmtl #microburst
