A Plateau bar known for turning Canadiens games into an elaborate sound-and-light show has chosen a novel way to show its displeasure with the Habs' inglorious first-round playoff exit — and last summer's P.K. Subban trade.
Chez Serge on St. Laurent Blvd. has changed its red, white, and blue sign to the Nashville Predators' yellow and blue, and has even changed the bar's name — to Chez Subban.
The enormously popular Subban was traded by Montreal to Nashville last summer for another all-star defenceman, Shea Weber. While Weber and the Habs were beaten in six games by the New York Rangers in round one, Subban's Predators blitzed the Chicago Blackhawks in four straight games on their way to a second-round date with the St. Louis Blues.
The bar's management has indicated that the sign will stay up until the Preds are eliminated — or until they win the Stanley Cup.
