Montreal police are investigating after a stabbing in a Rosemont apartment building sent a man to hospital.
Authorites say that a 911 call was placed at around 8:55pm after a conflict in an apartment on Sherbrooke Street near l'Assomption in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough ended with the victim being stabbed.
Police say that there are "many suspects", but that the person suspected of inflicting the stab wound fled on foot shortly after it happened.
The 22-year-old victim sustained an injury to his ankle and was transported to hospital, where he is expected to recover. He is expected to speak with the SPVM shortly.
An investigation into the incident remains open.
