Longueuil police have launched an investigation into a South Shore snow removal company after a flood of complaints from residents who claim they've been fleeced, with driveways full of white snow.
Hundreds of customers of Déneigement Polaire called police after the company and its snowplows went M.I.A. following the first real snowfall of the season. As the snow continued to build up, residents were forced to shovel it all themselves, despite many paying for the entire seasons contract up front.
"My driveway hasn't been cleared, there's ice, my stairs are extremely dangerous. I had to pay for another company to come," one woman told CJAD800s sister station Energie 94.3FM.
"No one answers the phone, the voicemail box is full, and nothing works. They don't respond to emails," another upset customer added.
Longueuil police are looking in to possible fraud charges against the company and are asking anyone who believes they were cheated by the Saint-Hubert business to contact them at 450-463-7211.
