A 27-year-old man was shot while walking on des Récollets Ave. near Prieur St. in Montreal North on Saturday night, police say.
"The event occured around 8:30 p.m.," said Montreal police officer Daniel Lacoursiere. "[The victim] was approached by at least one suspect that opened fire on him."
The suspect fled, and no arrests have been made.
The victim was able to find refuge in a nearby apartment before calling 911, according to Lacoursiere.
He was transported to hospital with serious injuries but his life is not in danger, Lacoursiere added.
