A fire inside a restaurant in Saint-Laurent is being investigated by the Montreal police arson squad.
"A possible break-in happened inside the business that has been closed for the past month, and traces of accelerant have been found inside the premises," said police Const. Raphael Bergeron.
Flames broke out on the first floor of a commercial building at the corner of Marcel-Laurin Blvd. and Saint Louis St. at about 11:00 p.m., according to Montreal fire chief of operations Marwan Shedeed.
Two people were forced from the office space on the second floor, Shedeed confirmed to CJAD News, but no one was hurt.
The Mediterraneo restaurant was also vacant. It has been closed since mid-February because of a fire on the second floor.
In May of 2015 the restaurant was also hit by arsonists. No suspects were ever caught.
