Montreal police are back on the waters of the Rivière des Prairies as part of their efforts to find 10-year-old Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou, who disappeared from his Cartierville neighborhood 15 days ago.
Police have boats on the water near the Parc des Bateliers, the riverside park a few blocks away from Ariel's home where he's believed to have gone on the afternoon of March 12.
Police are saying the most likely explanation for Ariel's disappearance was that he went to river's edge, fell into the water, and drowned.
Ariel's father has long suggested the boy was abducted, pointing to surveillance video captured of the boy in the hours after he was last seen. Police say they aren't ruling anything out.
Last week, police divers went into the frigid waters, but called off their search after a day and a half, because of the adverse weather conditions and the fact that snow and ice on the river hampered the divers' visibility.
Police said at the time they wouldn't go back on the water unless they had a credible tip.
