The weather looks like it's going to hold up its end of the bargain for Halloween, now local and provincial police departments, along with the SAAQ are reminding you to do yours.
The groups have released some helpful tips to make sure this year's candy fest can be happy and safe for everyone:
Wear light coloured clothing with reflective bands
Avoid masks that obstruct vision, or clothing that is too long
Bring a flashlight to help see clearly
Plan your route ahead of time; share it with your parents
Try to stay in groups when approaching someone's door
Avoid unnecessary street crossing, do your trick-or-treating on one side of the street, cross at an intersection and then continue on the other side
Inspect all candy before eating
If you need to be out on the roads, you're being asked to be particularly careful and cautious of the extra number of young pedestrians crossing the streets, potentially in hard to see costumes.
Patience and courtesy will go along way tonight, for both motorists and trick-or-treaters, to ensure everyone has a Happy Halloween.
